Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has urged for caution ahead of their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid tonight.
But Alonso insists they are prepared for the match.
“Every Sunday night I sit back and watch Spanish football on TV. There’s no need for a scouting report for this match – we know what sort of team Atletico are,” Alonso told Zoo Magazine.
“(They are) a very attacking side. They get forward very quickly and in good numbers. They score goals and will be very dangerous.
“Down the middle, they have Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan, but on the wings they’ll also be a real threat. Simao is well-known and Maxi Rodriguez is a great player.”
“Yeah, I keep in contact with Luis and I know the Kop has happy memories of him,” he added.
“Things didn’t always go his way but he scored some important goals and the fans will always be grateful. He’s really looking forward to his return to Anfield.”
