Altintop nears Frankfurt move

(GSM) – Eintracht Frankfurt are on the verge of completing a short-term deal for Schalke 04 striker Halil Altintop.

The 27-year-old German-born Turkey international has a contract running with Schalke until the end of the season but a possible Bundesliga switch could be on the cards.

Altintop, who has only played twice this term, has been at his current club since 2006 but Frankfurt executive chairman Heribert Bruchhagen says talks are ongoing.

“We are in concrete talks with Schalke 04 and the player,” he told Kicker-Sportmagazin.

“The transfer has not yet taken place, but I am confident this will be taking place this month.”
