Brazilian striker Amauri explains he is hoping to continue his career in Italian Serie A.
The experienced forward joined Fiorentina on a six-month deal in January, but has failed to prove his worth at Artemio Franchi, scoring just one goal in 13 Serie A appearances.
The player’s contract with Viola is set to expire at the end of the month and he is now looking for a new club after Fiorentina opted against offering him a contract extension.
Amauri believes he still has what it takes to play at the highest level and is, therefore, keen on staying in Italy.
“My future will certainly be in Italy,” the 32-year-old told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“I’ve had offers from abroad, but I want to prove myself over here. I could move abroad at the end of my career.”
Amauri has been linked with a number of top Serie A sides, but he admits he would be keen on joining Napoli.
“If president Aurelio de Laurentiis calls me then my phone is always on.”
The experienced striker played for eight different clubs in Italy, with spells at Palermo and Juventus the most successful in his career.
