Amazing move for Tranmere Rovers youngster

Youngster Dale Jennings has secured a move to Bayern Munich from English third tier side Tranmere Rovers, for an undisclosed fee.

It’s an incredible rise for the 18 year-old who at 15 was released by Liverpool has moved to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Impressive

Jennings has enjoyed a very short and fruitful career with the Whites of Tranmere. He made 32 appearances for the third tier English side, scoring six goals in the process. His good performances lead to him being watched by Premier League outfits Everton and Wolves.

Dream

The whole situation must be like a dream for the youngster. The likes of Premier League sides showing an interest in his services must have been flattering, but for a club of the size of Bayern Munich to come and sign him must have been like a dream come true.

I’m sure he will look around the training facilities at Bayern and think that he is in a different world. It’s along way from Liverpool-reject to the Allianz Arena.

Rare

Jennings must be a special player if Bayern have signed him. It’s very rare these days for English players to move abroad, especially young players. The English game has suffered from a sense of isolation, with few players moving abroad.

This could be part of the reason that the England international team have performed so poorly in recent tournaments. These English players maybe need to broaden their horizons instead of staying in the comfort blanket of the Premier League.

However I don’t think Dale Jennings could turn down this big opportunity. Bayern is a good place for him to develop as a player and he will also probably learn a lot about life in Germany.

Opportunity

Even Tranmere boss Les Parry thinks it’s an incredible opportunity for the youngster. The Tranmere boss told press: “This is an amazing opportunity for Dale and one which any young player would jump at.

“Bayern Munich made us a very good offer for Dale and we’re happy for him to progress his career with them in Germany.

“He has had an incredible 12 months with us now and hopefully he’ll go on to do great things with Bayern.”

Learn

Jennings himself has admitted it’s a dream move he told Sky Sports News: “It’s a three-year contract. If I do well for the B team, I can progress into the first-team and hopefully start training with them in a couple of months and the years to come.

“It’s a great club and it’s a great opportunity for me. The players they have got, it’s only going to make me a better player, with the coaching staff they have got. I’m looking forward to getting started.

“Some of the players in the first-team – the likes of (Franck) Ribery, (Thomas) Muller, (Bastian) Schweinsteiger – are some great players, so if I train with them it will only make me a better player.”

Future

Dale Jennings has a bright future ahead of him in the game. Although he is young I’m sure he will do really well in Bavaria and could come back to England at some point a better player. This move could be a good move for his international future as well.

Youth

The sale of Dale Jennings represents a triumph for Tranmere’s youth development programme. Rovers have been producing a decent standard of player for a long time. A lot of these players have made it as professionals but never really made it at the top level of the game.

Tranmere insiders believe that Dale Jennings is the best player that the Tranmere youth system has ever produced. It’s too early to guess how far Jennings can go but all the signs are there that he can become a very good player.

Nothing would thrill Tranmere fans and staff more than a player who has came through their youth system making it to the top of the football tree. Good luck Dale I hope you make a big splash in the Bundesliga.

Can Dale Jennings make it in Germany?
