Ambrosini linked with MLS switch

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that veteran midfielder Massimo Ambrosini is set to quit Fiorentina at the end of the current campaign.

The former Italy international joined Viola on a free transfer from AC Milan in the summer, signing a one-year contract at Artemio Franchi.

And with his current deal coming to an end, everything suggests he will not be offered a contract extension, having failed to make the desired impact at Fiorentina.

Ambrosini is rather expected to leave Viola on a free transfer, with a move to the MLS reportedly on the cards.

Namely, his former teammate David Beckham, the new owner of the MLS franchise in Miami, is eager to lure Ambrosini to the United States, and a summer switch to Miami now looks a realistic possibility.

The 36-year-old has spent his entire career up to date in Italy, making over 400 league appearances and scoring 31 goals.
