Ruben Amorim admitted that while his first few months at Manchester United have been intense, they have also been “the most special”.
Amorim stepped into the Old Trafford dugout in early November, replacing Erik ten Hag, but has had a mixed time in charge so far, with the club currently sitting 12th in the Premier League.
He has suffered six defeats in his first 11 league games at United, the worst start by anyone in charge of the club since 1932.
They are on the brink of sealing automatic qualification for the Europa League knockout rounds on Thursday when they face FCSB, while they also progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Arsenal on penalties.
“Yes [they have been intense] but also the most special ones,” Amorim told TNT Brasil, via ESPN.

“The two sides of one coin. I knew it, I knew that it would be an exciting adventure. I knew it was going to be very difficult because everyone knew the calendar that we had and the lack of time [we had to prepare].
“We also had the notion of the challenges that we would find and, obviously, with a few defeats, everything becomes a little more complicated.”
United are guaranteed at least a play-off place in the Europa League, but a win would secure them a spot in the top eight of the table.
The Red Devils have not lost any of their last six away Europa League group/league stage matches (W4 D2) since losing 2-1 at Astana in November 2019.
