Ethan Ampadu seems very keen on being a part of the first team at Chelsea next season.
The 19-year-old defender is currently on a season-long loan at RB Leipzig which, it has to be said, isn’t going too well. As February slowly crawls to its end, he has made only seven appearances in all competitions for the German club; three in the Bundesliga, three in the Champions League and one in the DFB-Pokal.
However, one of those Champions League appearances was earlier this week in North London, and his fine performance certainly helped Leipzig stun Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of their round-of-16 clash. The game was closely observed by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and his staff as the Blues prepared to take on Spurs themselves on Saturday, and as quoted by the Express, Ampadu believes he has done enough in that game to make his parent club take notice.
He revealed that he follows Chelsea’s season closely and hopes they will be able to hold on to their place in the top four and qualify for the Champions League again.
