Ethan Ampadu has joined RB Leipzig on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.
New Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had already stated that the teenager would be heading out on a temporary deal, in order to gain further first team experience, with the defender having made just one league appearance for the Blues since signing from Exeter City two years ago.
He has made a handful of appearances in cup competitions and in Europe, as well as receiving eight senior caps for Wales.
Ampadu is the latest in a long line of Chelsea players to be given the opportunity to ply his trade in another European country, while Leipzig are also working on a deal to sign Adeloma Lookman from Everton this summer.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side begin the season with a trip to Union Berlin, with the away win priced at 17/20.
