PSG have been busy in the January transfer window as they look to build a team capable of securing the Ligue 1 title.
Their latest acquisition was Brazilian defender Alex, who completed a 4.75 million pound move from Chelsea on Friday.
PSG travel to Brest on Saturday, but the 29-year-old will not play.
“He played in Holland. He played in England. He was in the national team,” PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti said.
“He played a lot of games in Champions League. He is physically good. And he is very professional.”
“I like professional players. I like players when they play for the team. I think Alex will have a good season.”
PSG have also been heavily linked with want-away Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez as the club prepares for a possible Champions League charge next season.
“I think in the future we will looking for a striker as well. Perhaps Tevez will be one that we take on.”
PSG top the Ligue 1 table by three points and will hope to extend that lead against mid-table Brest.
They are unbeaten in five league games, but then again so are Brest.
“I think that Brest is a good team. They are a good team and they have not lost at home,” Ancelotti said.
“They played 12 games and won six. They are a good team with good organisation. I think it is going to be difficult.”
Elsewhere, Marseille take on Stade Rennes on Sunday in a game that pits fifth versus sixth and two form teams against each other.
Didier Deschamps’ Marseille are flying, they have won five of their last six in the league and beat Lille last time out.
“The players are a lot more available and what we do is more simple,” Deschamps said.
“Our technical quality is a lot better than before. We’ve gained in confidence, there’s a good spirit and good aggressive playing style.”
Rennes are a point ahead of Marseille though and will be confident having beaten Caen last time out.
Stade Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila is looking mforward to the clash.
“We want to do better than our opponents and we try to be as high in the league as possible. We have a good team and we want to trouble the big guns above us, we want to win,” he said.
Elsewhere, second placed Montpellier will hope to keep the pressure on leaders PSG with victory over relegation threatened Nice.
Lille have a tricky test as they look to bounce back from defeat to Marseille, they face St Etienne in Northern France.
Lyon have lost their last two league fixtures and will want to end that poor run with victory against Dijon.
