(GSM) – Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has advised his former club Milan to assign Mauro Tassotti if they look to replace current coach Leonardo.
Tassotti was an assistant manager to Ancelotti during his eight-year spell at the San Siro and remained in the role after his departure for Chelsea last year.
“Tassotti has the experience, the competence and the knowledge to coach Milan,” Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport.
“He has remarkable qualities, he is very prepared and has a clear project on his mind. It would be a spot-on choice.”
Leonardo has managed to guide Milan to a top-three finish in Serie A despite the club’s lack of investments last summer.
“This was a transitional season,” explained Ancelotti.
“Milan had a new boss and key players such as Paolo Maldini or Kaka who either retired or left the club.
“As a result, I would say that Leonardo did an excellent job and Milan must consider their season as positive.”
