Carlo Ancelotti admits Chelsea are no longer in the title race following the home defeat to Liverpool.
The Blues boss is now eager to ensure his team Champions League football next term.
“It’s difficult for us to believe we can still come back and fight for the title now. We must be honest and admit the gap will be tough to close.”
“Our aim is very clear. We must focus on the Champions League and FA Cup while in the Premier League we must finish in the top four.
“Fourth place is the minimum. We must fight with the other teams because the most important step is to maintain Chelsea’s presence in the Champions League.”
Ancelotti admitted the defeat to Liverpool came in the worst possible time.
“The surprise is our bad moment lasted too long. Now we must use our time on the training ground to make our system work. Step by step, we’ll try to find the answers.
“Our aim is to find a better solution for the players we have in our squad. Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres are fantastic strikers and we must do everything to play them together.”
