Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has moved to confirm reports linking the Saints with Chelsea stars Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres.
In spite of the heavy recruitment in the summer and winter transfer windows, the French giants are struggling to stake their claim for the Ligue 1 title and currently occupy the second place in the standings.
The Saints have also dropped out from the Europa League and they are desperate to further reinforce the squad in the summer.
PSG was recently linked with Chelsea stars Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres and Carlo Ancelotti now gives his verdict on the two players.
“Lampard is a safe bet, Torres is a gamble: he is now in trouble at Chelsea,” Ancelotti said in a special edition of Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
The Italian manager then denied speculations that he will try and sign Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero.
“Del Piero? Our desire is to buy young players. I do not see Del Piero in another jersey. I would like him to end his career at Juve.”
Following the entertaining 4-4 draw with Lyon at Gerland, Paris Saint-Germain sit one point adrift of Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier.
