Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that his side are trying to sign Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez.
The controversial Argentine is reportedly PSG’s top transfer target after they were forced to admit defeat in their chase of AC Milan’s Alexandre Pato.
Inter and AC Milan are also in the race for Tevez, but the Serie A duo are believed to be unwilling to meet City’s valuation of the striker.
“We hope to find a valid solution,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.
“Everyone knows that we are looking for an attacker.”
“Tevez would be a great opportunity: right now, he is not playing at City and he wants to play.”
“Up to this date, nothing is defined. We must talk to the player and City. I have not spoken with him or his agent. (PSG sporting director) Leonardo is taking care of everything.”
Tevez is currently in Argentina after being frozen out of City’s squad for refusing to warm-up in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich in September.
Ancelotti believes that Tevez’s lack of first-team action will not be a problem and is confident that the Argentine star will agree to a move to the Parc des Princes.
“I think that if we talk to Tevez, he will see he wants to come. He must make a change, he is not playing at City,” the Italian said.
“He is a great player, I think that in two weeks he could regain his fitness.”
