Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has moved to deny speculations linking los Blancos with a move for Juventus star Andrea Pirlo.
With the Italy international having entered the final year of his contract in Turin and club chiefs yet to offer him a new deal, the veteran midfielder has been the subject of transfer talk of late.
And even if Real Madrid were tipped to make a move on the 34-year-old, Carlo Ancelotti has denied such a possibility.
“Andrea Pirlo at Real Madrid? No, the years have passed, even if he will forever be one of the best,” the Italian coach confessed to Radio Deejay.
Similar situation saw Pirlo join Juventus on a free transfer from AC Milan, and the Rossoneri quickly lived to regret their decision as the midfielder played a key role in back to back Serie A titles won by the Bianconeri.
Since arriving in Turin, Pirlo has made 80 Serie A appearances, managing 11 goals and 20 assists in the process, but it appears the club chiefs are still debating whether to offer him a contract extension.
