AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has put an end to rumours linking unsettled Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko to a speculated return back to AC Milan.
Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko, who had played with AC Milan winning the Italian Serie A and the Champions League had chosen a new experience in 2006, signing with then Premiership winners Chelsea FC.
Following two dismal years in London, speculation began pointing Sheva back to AC Milan. The two month injury to striker Marco Borriello and the fact that both newly acquired Ronaldinho and forward Alexandre Pato will miss the start of the season due to Olympic duty had put the Sheva Return hypothesis back into the spotlight.
Despite rumours, Ancelotti had ruled against a possible return, and also commented on his psychological problems.
“We are grateful for Andriy for everything that he has done for Milan, but at this point itÂ’s in the past. If he overcomes his problems, that are mainly of psychological nature and tied to the fact that he moved to another countryÂ… Borriello has a problem that will resolve quickly, therefore we must wait for him, and Shevchenko will play his season at Chelsea.”
