Ancelotti: Torres ´happy´ at Chelsea

Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed rumours star signing Fernando Torres is homesick ahead of Chelsea’s hosting of Copenhagen on Wednesday.

The English Premier League side lead the Champions League Round of 16 tie 2-0 after the first leg in Denmark, though Ancelotti was forced to address rumours regarding his 50 million pound January signing from Liverpool at Tuesday’s press conference.

“I don’t think (Torres is homesick), this is not true,” Ancelotti said of Spain striker Torres, who is still seeking his first goal in Chelsea colours.

“He is happy to stay here and we are happy that he is here. He is working very well, he is learning quickly and he doesn’t have a problem. ”

Ancelotti believes his side must be wary of complacency against Copenhagen, despite seemingly already having one foot in the quarter-finals.

“We did well in the first (leg) and I think we have to pay the same attention in the second half,” Ancelotti said.

“We can’t forget that it is very important for us to progress and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.””We have to pay a lot of attention. Copenhagen is a good and well-organised team. We have used the time to prepare the team well for the match, to focus, to improve our condition and our confidence. In training everything was OK but now we have to check our condition in the game.”

But despite outlining the importance of the game, Ancelotti revealed he would be rotating his squad to keep it fresh.

Chelsea are still holding out hope of an unlikely defence of their English Premier League crown, with seven points now separating them in fourth and league-leaders Manchester United.

But with a game in hand on United – as well as a clash to come against Sir Alex Ferguson’s men – Ancelotti is refusing to give up the chase.

“I want to rotate in this game. I haven’t yet chosen the team for Wednesday but I want to use a rotation because all the players are fit and I want to use all the players to prepare well for these two games against Copenhagen and against Manchester City (in the Premier League on Sunday),” he said.

“Now every game is important. I don’t think that this game will be more important in comparison to the next game against Manchester City. Both will be important games for our future and for our season.”
