AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed to press that he is unsure whether French star Yoann Gourcuff will return to the San Siro after his loan deal is completed at LIgue 1 side Bordeaux in the summer, according to Setanta Sports.
The former Rennes midfielder had trouble fitting in at Milan and with the likes of Kaka, Andrea Pirlo and Clarence Seedorf the youngster found it hard to play regular football for the Rossoneri.
Since joining French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux on loan in the summer, the 22-year-old has caught the attention of numerous clubs with magnificent performances and reports suggest that the French club have the option to buy Gourcuff at the end of his loan deal for around £12 million.
Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc is sure to see the deal as not only a great chance to have one of the most promising players in the world at Stade Chaban-Delmas but also a quality opportunity to raise money with  a large future sale.
It is this reason that Ancelotti believes it will be a struggle to convince the French youngster to return to the San Siro and told press: “I have no idea whether he is going to come back to Milan or not. It’s difficult, but not impossible.
“You know, Milan is a club where you have to prove your worth very quickly. I understand his disappointment because playing bits of games is not easy.
“But when I gave him the chance to play, he was too selfish. He couldn’t play for the collectiveness.
“He must work on his mental side in order to become a great player because he quickly collapsed here. No doubt he’s a top player, but the mental aspect was his main problem when he was with us.
“One day he was at the top, the other day he was at the bottom.â€Â
