Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to be appointed as Everton manager any day now, wants Piotr Zielinski from his old club Napoli to join him on Merseyside, according to various reports in Italy.
The Polish midfielder was linked heavily with Everton’s neighbors Liverpool once upon a time, but in the long run it proved better for the Reds that the move never materialized. Speculative reports about potential interest appeared again a few months ago, but they were obviously wide of the mark with Liverpool now well-stocked with players of that type.
However, Ancelotti is now keen on reuniting with Zielinski at Everton, while the reports coming from Italy seem contradict one another. Some claim Napoli have branded the 25-year-old for sale, while others state that he has been offered a fresh contract that he is likely to sign.
Reports also say that the 60-year-old has asked for assurances that Richarlison and Lucas Digne would not be sold without his consent.
