(GSM) – Internazionale defeated Chelsea on Wednesday night (2-1) in the first leg of the Champions League eight final but Carlo Ancelotti is confident his side can turn it around in the second leg.
Salomon Kalou scored a goal for the Blues but goals from Diego Milito and Esteban Cambiasso gave former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho the victory.
However, Ancelotti saw enough from the match to be confident for the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
“I think that what we saw tonight, we have the chance to turn it around,” said the Italian manager.
“I think we played well. We leave without a positive result, but it’s not an ugly one either.
“We will play to attack and win the second leg in the same way we did in this game.
“We tried to attack and score from the first to the last minute.”
Petr Cech is unlikely to be involved in the second leg after being carried off on a stretcher after an hour’s play, but Ancelotti alleviated the initial fears that he had torn knee ligaments by revealing the goalkeeper has damaged his calf.
“We have to wait and control his condition over the next few days,” he said.
“He has an injury on his calf. We cannot say now when he will return to the squad.”
