Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera could be nearing the end of the road with Red Devils.
Following a disappointing Champions League exit and an overall frustrating Premier League campaign, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is preparing for a summer clear-out.
The Portuguese tactician is expected to part ways with a number of players, including the Spanish international Ander Herrera.
The 28-year-old central midfielder has only made 19 Premier League appearances this season but his overall contribution was severely limited due to an injury.
Herrera only managed 16 minutes in a goalless draw against Sevilla back in February whereas he missed Manchester United’s last eight matches in all competitions.
His future remains in doubt despite the fact he only recently signed a year-long extension to his current deal which is supposed to keep him at Old Trafford until 2019.
Herrera, however, appears to be one of the nine players who could end up leaving United this summer but the Spaniard will be under no shortage of options with his former club Athletic Bilbao featuring as an option, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.
Additionally, Serie A giants AC Milan have also expressed interest in his services.
