Anderlecht confirm Juventus interest in Suarez

Anderlecht have revealed that a number of European club are ready to meet the club’s valuation of star forward Matias Suarez.

The Argentine striker is enjoying a great season in Belgium top flight and has seen his name linked with a number of major European clubs.

Suarez was even linked with a January move to Arsenal, but the transfer eventually fell through.

The 23-year-old is widely tipped to leave Anderlecht at the end of the season and club’s sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck confirms that Suarez is set for a summer exit.

“There are 15 clubs that are ready to meet our asking price for Suarez, and Juventus are one of those teams,” Van Holsbeeck told Het Nieuwsblad.

“We already received an offer from Russia, but his wife doesn’t want to move there.”

The Anderlecht official is aware that Suarez is worth less than Romelu Lukaku, who joined Chelsea in a €20 million deal last summer.

“Is Suarez worth more than Lukaku? He has more technical ability, but Lukaku’s age and maturity played a big role in his price.”

Matias Suarez, who joined Anderlecht from Belgrano in 2008, has scored 11 goals in 27 league games this term, while adding another 7 in 10 Europa League appearances.
