(GSM) – Some excitement may return to the Belgian league this week as leaders Anderlecht crashed to a 1-2 defeat by Sint-Truiden on Saturday.
Anderlecht are nine points ahead of Club Brugge, whom they beat 3-2 in midweek, and appeared to be cruising away from all their rivals.
But the match with Sint-Truiden showed that it is much too early to be that confident, even though the Brussels outfit had Jelle van Damme score the opening goal on 21 minutes.
Peter Delorge levelled the score on 27 minutes and a penalty from Cephas Chimedza even handed Sint-Truiden an unexpected lead with just three minutes to go in regular time.
Brugge, who play away to Zulte-Waregem on Sunday, could now bring the gap with Anderlecht back to six.
