(GSM) – RSC Anderlecht showed that they are the team to beat this season, beating Zulte-Waregem 6-0 to extend their lead in the Belgian championship group.

Mbark Boussoufa put Anderlecht ahead in the seventh minute against Zulte-Waregem, and Matias Suarez doubled the lead from the penalty spot five minutes after the break.

In the remaining 40 minutes, goals from Jelle Van Damme, Tom De Sutter, Guillaume Gillet and a second from Boussafa helped the Brussels side to a convincing 6-0 win.

Gent closed in on second-placed Club Brugge with a 1-2 win at Kortrijk.

The hosts did score the opener through David Vandenbroeck in the 44th minute, but things turned around late on as Wouter Vrancken conceded s second yellow card in the 86th minute and Adnan Custovic equalised two minutes later.

And after another two minutes, it was Christophe Lepoint to net the winner.
