RSC Anderlecht have successfully defended their top spot in the Belgian Pro League, beating Germinal Beerschot 1-0 in Brussels.

Just over 23 thousand spectators watched as Anderlecht needed only a goal from Romelo Lukaku in the 53rd minute to secure three points against Germinal Beerschot.

Club Brugge weren’t quite as successful on Sunday, having been held to a 1-1 draw at Excelsior Mouscron.

Jaycee Okwunwanne broke the deadlock for Mouscron in the 52nd minute but Dorge Kouemaha limited the damage, netting the equalizer four minutes later.

Anderlecht lead with 20 points from nine games, followed by Club Brugge at two points. Standard Liege and Sint-Truiden share third place, at three points from the leaders.
