Belgian giants Anderlecht have announced the signing of Portuguese defender Rolando from FC Porto.
The experienced centre-back was on the radar of quite a few high-profile clubs, but he eventually decided to join the RSCA on loan until the end of the season.
And with Rolando’s current deal with FC Porto due to expire at the end of the season, it is clear he will not be returning to Estadio do Dragao.
The 29-year-old is club’s second marquee signing of the winter transfer window, with Marko Marin having previously joined on loan from Chelsea.
Rolando has endured some tough times at Estadio do Dragao of late, having failed to make a single appearance for the club for some two and a half years.
The highly rated stopper was heavily linked with a return to Italian Serie A, where he largely impressed during the loan spell with Inter Milan, while also representing Napoli.
