(GSM) – Manchester United midfielder Anderson is out for the rest of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament during the win over West Ham United.
Anderson, who was making his first appearance for over a month, suffered the injury during the first half of Tuesday’s match against the Hammers.
Having just overcome an ankle injury suffered in January, the 21-year-old Brazilian is unlikely to feature at the World Cup.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: “It is a bad blow for the boy and a bad blow for us.”
