Manchester United midfielder Anderson has revealed he would be open to returning to Brasileiro Série A side Gremio.
Anderson, 26, is expected to be allowed to leave Old Trafford when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The former Porto midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, is reportedly attracting interest from Flamengo and Gremio.
When asked if he could return to his boyhood club, Anderson told Radio Bandeirantes: “There is always the possibility of returning to Gremio. “It’s my home, I grew up at the club. I am a fan, everyone knows that.
“It’s possible, as it was in the past. I have been contacted by the club before.
“I want to be closer to my family, to my daughters. There has never been an offer, but I have known the club for a long time.
“I am not desperate to join Gremio, though, as I respect all Brazilian clubs.
“Gremio have a chance but it doesn’t depend on me, it depends on their board. I was close a year ago, before joining Fiorentina. I would accept a reduction in my wages.”
Anderson, who reportedly cost United a whopping €30 million in the summer of 2007, has made just one English Premier League appearance for the Red Devils this season.
De Laet signs new Leicester deal
In other new, former Manchester United defender Ritchie de Laet has penned a new four-year contract at Leicester City.
The twice-capped Belgium international, 25, has featured in all 11 of the Foxes’ Premier League fixtures this season, posting an impressive average match rating of 7.42, per WhoScored.com.
De Laet is absolutely delighted with his new deal, and hopes to help the club stay in the England’s top-flight this term.
“I’m so happy to sign a new deal here at Leicester,” De Laet said. “I’m settled, my family has settled and hopefully it’ll be a good thing for the Club and me.
“I just want to finish this year well, stay in the Premier League and kick on from there.
“Leicester took a risk with me at the start when they brought me here without a lot of experience and they stuck with me, so now I’m doing the same thing with them.
“It’s been nearly the same group since I’ve been here. Most have signed new contracts to stay with Leicester, so we’re a group that are tied together and we’ll fight together to stay in the Premier League.”
Despite an impressive start to the 2014/15 campaign, the Foxes (2-3-6) are currently in 18th-place in the league table.
