Tottenham Hotspur are ready to get back in the race to sign the 24-year-old Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
Mauricio Pochettino attempted to land Gomes during the winter but Barcelona were unwilling to discuss the sale of a player who only joined last summer. The Portuguese international made 30 La Liga appearances in his debut season with Barcelona but has failed to establish himself as a first-choice midfielder at Camp Nou.
Former Valencia midfielder does not appear to have a long-term future under new boss Ernesto Valverde given the fact his impact has thus far been limited to only three league matches and 28 minutes in total.
The imposing presence of former Tottenham man Paulinho who has impressed since his arrival from China has opened the door toward Andre Gomes departure and Spurs are said to be waiting for their moment.
Mauricio Pochettino is said to be contemplating a January move for the midfielder as he looks to bolster his options at the centre of the park.
