Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia is widely expected to remain in England beyond the current season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 29-year-old was loaned to Hull City in the dying moments of the winter transfer window, and he enjoyed a bright start to his career in English Premier League.
Ranocchia not only performed his defensive duties up to the highest standard, but also managed to chip in with two goals, and his winner against relegation rivals West Ham was especially important.
Sitting two points above the bottom three with six games to go, the Tigers can be backed at 3/5 not to get relegated.
Prior to joining Hull City, Ranocchia had spent his entire career in Italy, representing the likes of Arezzo, Bari, Genoa, Inter Milan and Sampdoria.
The experienced defender has been capped 20 times by Italy, but he never took part at major tournament finals.
