Sky Sport Italia has suggested that Chievo defender Marco Andreolli has agreed to join Inter when his contract expires in the summer.
The highly rated centre-back has agreed a four-year deal with the Neroazzurri, worth around €1 million per season.
Andreolli’s agent Patrick Bastianelli met with Inter officials on Wednesday evening to sort out the final details of the contract.
Other Italy’s top clubs were also after the 26-year-old, but the player was keen on a switch to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
It was at Inter that it all started for Andreolli, as he began his professional career at Giuseppe Meazza, although he made just seven league appearances for the Neroazzurri before joining Roma in 2007.
Following a disappointing spell at Stadio Olimpico, the defender managed to kick-start his career at Chievo, going on to make 67 league appearances for the Flying Donkeys.
Andreolli is currently regarded as one of the best Serie A defenders and is widely tipped to receive his first Italy call-up.
