PSV Eindhoven have confirmed they are in talks over signing Valencia midfielder Andres Guardado on a permanent deal.
The Mexican joined the Dutch giants on a season-long loan in the summer in search of first team football and he has since featured in 7 Eredivisie matches and two Europa League fixtures.
PSV Eindhoven officials are satisfied with the impact the 28-year-old footballer has had so far and they now hope to turn his loan deal into permanent move.
Guardado has less than two years left on his deal with los Che, but PSV hope to find an agreement with the La Liga side.
“Of course we would like to (sign Guardado on permanent deal), but he still has a one-year contract and, therefore, Valencia have a big say,” PSV technical director Marcel Brands was quoted as saying in Voetbal International.
And with Guardado also eager to remain at Phillips Arena for the foreseeable future, chances are an agreement will be reached in the coming months.
Despite the lack of first team action at club level, the experience midfielder largely impressed playing for Mexico at the 2014 World Cup.
