Andres Iniesta may be heading to Japan

Radio Catalunya has suggested that Barcelona icon Andres Iniesta is set to continue his career in Japan.

The 33-year-old decided to leave the Catalans searching for a new challenge and he was widely expected to move to China.

However, with Chongquing Lifan denying their interest in the highly rated midfielder, Iniesta will be moving elsewhere.

According to Catalunya Radio, Japanese side Vissel Kobe have emerged as new favourites to win the chase for the Spain international.

The club is owned by Hiroshi Mikitani, CEO of Rakuten, the company that has been Barcelona’s shirt sponsors in recent years.
