West Bromwich Albion midfielder Keith Andrews says Roy Hodgson would be a great choice to take charge of England at the end of the season.
Hodgson, 64, steered West Brom away from the threat of relegation last season, and has the team 14th on the English Premier League table this term.
When asked about Hodgson’s potential appointment as England coach, Andrews was sure he would be the perfect choice.
“Absolutely. I am sure he would fit in like a duck to water – but all the lads want him to stay here,” Andrews said.
Despite West Brom’s three-match winning run coming to an end at Manchester United on Sunday, Andrews said the players aim to continue their march up the table in search of a good finish to the campaign.
“We’re still not looking down the table – nine times out of 10, United are going to win,” he said.
“We’re looking to get straight back on the bike at Wigan, carrying on where we left off against Chelsea.”
