Anelka signs for Mumbai City

Nicolas Anelka has signed for Indian side Mumbai City, according to TalkSport.

The former France international has been without a club since his controversial exit from West Bromwich Albion, where he saw his contract terminated in March for gross misconduct.

The recently formed Indian Super League, which will commence in October and run for two months, has already attracted stars including David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero.

Anelka has racked up over six hundred and fifty club appearances in his career so far, across spells in France, England, Spain, Turkey, China and Italy.

He has won a whole host of major honours, including league titles with Arsenal, Chelsea, Fenerbahce and Juventus and the Champions League with Real Madrid.

Internationally, he made sixty-nine appearances for Les Bleus, scoring fourteen goals and was part of the squad that won the 2000 European Championships which was hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.
