Manchester City’s Angelino, currently on loan at RB Leipzig, is set to join the Bundesliga side on a permanent deal when the temporary one expires next summer, according to The Times. The transfer is expected to be agreed in the coming months and to cost Leipzig £16.2 million.
The 23-year-old left-back took his first football steps at Deportivo La Coruna and joined City in 2013, at the age of 16. After that he went through loan spells with New York City FC, Girona, Mallorca and NAC Breda, before joining PSV Eindhoven permanently 2018. City brought him back to the Etihad only a year later, but he hasn’t been able to force his way into the starting XI under Pep Guardiola and has been sent to Leipzig.
His performances for the German club have been excellent, and coach Julian Nagelsmann is obviously keen on having the Spaniard at his permanent disposal. The loan fee City received was £1.8m (€2m), and it was agreed that he could join Leipzig permanently if he plays at least 22 games; he has so far played in 17.
