Carlos Tevez’s advisor has rubbished reports the Argentinean ace will strike to push through a transfer from Manchester City.
Tevez resumed training at Eastlands on Tuesday, days after the Premier League club promptly rejected their talisman’s written request to be transferred in January.
The 26-year-old is not expected to travel with City to the San Siro on Wednesday for their Europa League clash against Juventus – and the situation is no clearer at league level.
Fears are growing that Tevez will simply refuse to play, however Kia Joorabchian said the Argentina international will continue to give his utmost until his wish to leave is granted.
“I want to be clear that Carlos has never said he is not going to play or train or be professional. So those rumours are rubbish,” Joorabchian told the Daily Telegraph.
“He will play if picked and 100 percent do his best. He feels that is important every time he puts on the shirt. He always gives 100 percent.”
“It’s been said City will sue for a breach of his contract but on what grounds? All he’s done is simply request a transfer.”
“No-one is saying if Carlos leaves he should go for free. Everyone knows City have to be compensated.”
“He made his position clear when he wanted to leave (Manchester) United and he’s doing the same now. He is very strong-minded.”
“At this moment it isn’t about him going to another club. Nothing has been set up for him to move despite people speculating. There’s no club we’ve lined up to try and sign him.”
Former City striker Uwe Rosler blasted Tevez, saying the Argentinean has disrespected the captain’s armband.
“He is not living up to his responsibility as club captain off the field,” Rosler told BBC Radio Manchester.
“That is disappointing and difficult to understand. I would take the captaincy away from him, 100 percent.”
“I like players who want to play for the manager. I would let him go as long as the price is right. City have to get the money back for him.”
“They are fortunately in a very good position regarding the owners and replacing Tevez. In the long term it is important that every player is totally committed to City.”
“You should have a dressing room with more harmony and spirit with everyone driving in same direction.”
“Look at Chelsea and Manchester United, when they were winning titles there was not so much noise as there is coming out of the City dressing room.”
