(GSM) – Radomir Antic wants to continue as Serbia coach despite his team’s early exit from the World Cup.
The 61-year-old tactician has been in charge since August 2008 and he was still keen to carry on in the post.
“When I signed a contract with the Serbian Federation I accepted a contractual obligation,” said Antic.
“And I have no intention of going back on it.”
Serbia beat Germany 1-0, but lost 1-0 to Ghana and 2-1 to Australia in Group D.
“I think that we made a good impression,” he added.
“We beat Germany and gave it our all in trying to win our third match (against Australia). I believe that those are sufficient grounds for me to continue in charge of the national side.”
The president of Serbia’s football association has said he wants to cut Antic’s $1.85 million and two-year contract because Serbia failed to advance to the second round of the World Cup.
