Antonee Robinson of Wigan Athletic was all set to join AC Milan in January, but the deal fell through on Deadline Day as the Rossoneri failed to give themselves enough time for the medical to be completed.
The 22-year-old will have been thoroughly disappointed by such a development, but it seems all is not lost when it comes to his wish to join a top-flight team. Options have reportedly opened up for him which would allow him to fulfill that wish without leaving England.
It seems the left-back is set to become an object of a three-way Premier League race. The Mirror have reported that Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all interested in his services with this year’s summer transfer window in mind. Wigan acquired him from Everton on a permanent basis last summer for just under £2 million, and they stand to make a significant profit if he leaves for a top-flight side after 12 months.
