Antonin Panenka With The First Ever ‘Panenka’ Penalty In 1976 Euro Final (Video)

At the UEFA Euro 1976, Czechoslovakia won the European crown by beating West Germany in the final held on this day (June 20th).

The game ended in a 2-2 draw and was settled through a penalty shootout, in which Antonin Panenka scored the winning spot-kick in the way that would go on to bear his name forever.
