Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva rejected the opportunity to move to English Premier League this winter, his official representative has claimed.
The Italy international had been linked with a switch to the Premiership even before he left Lazio for the Nerazzurri, and it appears he received a very good offer last January as well.
Premier League leaders Chelsea are widely believed to have attempted to recruit Candreva, although his agent didn’t want to reveal the identity of the club in question.
“He received an important offer from England at the end January,” agent Federico Pastorello told Il Messaggero.
“I think Inter is going to hang onto him, and Antonio is very happy to be part of the team that will become the anti-Juve.
“The Nerazzurri are one of the most interesting clubs in terms of where they could end up.
“Only Inter, for example, could afford to spend €100m on Mbappe.”
Antonio Candreva has been one of Serie A’s star performers for several years now, and he developed into an important player for Inter Milan shortly after joining from league rivals Lazio.
The 30-year-old has so far produced 7 goals and 8 assists in 36 competitive appearances for the Nerazzurri.
