Antonio Conte admits interest in Juventus job

Siena coach Antonio Conte admits he is happy to be considered one of the favourites for the Juventus job.

The former Juventus midfielder is widely tipped to replace Luigi Del Neri, especially after the experienced manager revealed that he would leave the Bianconeri at the end of the season.

“I am still Siena coach and I have still not signed any new contract. I am happy to be linked with such a great club as Juventus,” Conte told reporters.

“The Serie A and B seasons are not over yet and for correctness it’s right for me to still be considered Siena coach until the game against Albinoleffe.”

Luigi Del Neri yesterday revealed that the game against Napoli would be his final at Juventus bench.

“Next season, Juventus will have a new coach, the club informed me last Wednesday of this decision,” Del Neri said in his press conference.

“I accept this choice; but I reiterate I would do it all again. Juve don’t have the time to wait for change and gradual growth. As for me, when one door closes I hope another door opens.”
