Anzhi closing in on Tevez
Free-spending Anzhi have stepped up their interest in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, according to Russian newspaper Tvoi Den.
The Argentine forward’s days at Eastlands are numbered after he refused to enter the pitch in the clash with Bayern and City are looking to offload him in January.
Despite the player’s recent shenanigans, the Citizens are unlikely to sell Tevez on the cheap, with just a few clubs in Europe capable of matching their asking price.
One of those is Russian side Anzhi, owned by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov, and the Dagestan outfit have already shown interest in Tevez.
According to Russian newspaper Tvoi Den, Anzhi officials are on the verge of agreeing personal terms with the player, while they are also confident they would be able to agree transfer fee with Manchester City.
The Russian Premier League side owner Kerimov has big ambitions and is looking to add few more big name players to what is already a star-studded squad.
After failing to adapt to life in England, Tevez could experience similar problems if he was to agree a move to Anzhi, and that could prove to be an obstacle to the deal.
Maicon adamant he is not leaving Inter
Brazilian full-back Douglas Maicon has denied reports that he will be leaving Inter in the near future.
The experienced defender was believed to be unsettled at Inter and he was linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer.
The speculations about his departure from Giuseppe Meazza continued to mount, but the player says he never thought about leaving.
“It’s not true that I wanted to leave Inter a year ago,” Maicon told Inter Channel.
“I went to the World Cup after the Champions League Final before returning to my work with Inter, where I am happy.
“However, every now and again things are said about me which are not true.”
Russian side Anzhi have also shown interest in the 30-year-old, who has spent last five years at Giuseppe Meazza.
Lazio star cools off transfer talk
The agent of Lazio full-back Stefan Radu has rejected speculation linking his client with top European clubs.
The Romanian defender is widely tipped to leave Lazio for a bigger club and he has been linked with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
However, the player’s agent denies any contact with the aforementioned clubs.
“I’ve not been told anything by interested clubs and Lazio have told me nothing,” Victor Becali told Radio Mana Mana.
“I don’t understand where these stories come from…
“I’ve read of the interest in him in Spain, France and England, but I can assure you that, as it stands, no foreign club has asked me for any information about my client.
Becali, however, admits that his client might be interested in a move abroad.
“We’ll only consider a move if any interesting situations arise over the next six months of so.”
