April 14th: Sunday’s European Double – 7/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

In what looks set to be a season-defining weekend of action from across Europe, Sunday offers a host of heavyweight showdowns.

With German record-breakers Bayer Leverkusen now just 90 minutes away from getting their hands on a maiden Bundesliga crown, there are also a trio of Premier League contests.

Ahead of what could be an action-packed Sunday of action, we have found a pair of the most intriguing betting markets.

16:30 Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Eventually left disappointed earlier in the week as they opened their Champions League quarter-final showdown against Bayer Munich with a 2-2 stalemate, Arsenal will be seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, enjoying what has been a stunning purple patch since opening up the New Year, Mikel Arteta’s young squad will know the importance of making another title statement this weekend.

Tipped as a leading contender to get their hands on a first Premier League crown since 2004, the Gunners should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high.

Last seen in top-flight action breezing their way to a 3-0 romp away at Brighton, Arsenal have remarkably collected 31 points from just their previous 11 Premier League appearances – a run that stems all the way back to New Year’s Eve.

Continuing to gain a fearsome reputation for their clinical performances in the final third, it should also be noted that Arteta’s men have won 10 of their last 11 Premier League showdowns at the Emirates.

Likewise, including a 3-1 romp against Liverpool on February 4th, the title contenders have won their previous five top-flight matchups in north London by an aggregate score of 16-3.

While Aston Villa might have opened 2024 with their sights firmly set on securing a famous Champions League ticket, Sunday’s guests are seeking some recent domestic stability.

Missing out on what they billed as a golden opportunity last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 3-3 stalemate against relegation scrappers Brentford, Unai Emery’s men have claimed just a single victory from their previous five Premier League appearances.

With the former Arsenal boss bracing himself for a heavyweight challenge when he returns to north London on Sunday afternoon, Villa have also shown some extended defensive issues.

Opening April with a routine 4-1 drumming a the hands of defending champions Manchester City, Villa have recorded just a sole top-flight clean sheet from their previous nine outings.

16:30 Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen

In the midst of what has been an iconic fairytale this season, Bayer Leverkusen are now just 90 minutes away from making real history at the BayArena. Opening this weekend’s fixtures holding an iconic 16-point buffer at the top of the Bundesliga table, Xabi Alonso’s record-breaking squad can officially claim a first domestic crown here.

Continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent and opening their Europa League quarter-final showdown against West Ham with a routine 2-0 victory in midweek, Sunday’s hosts have not suffered a single point across any competition.

Winning all of their previous seven appearances by an aggregate score of 17-5, Leverkusen will be looking to lift a maiden Bundesliga title with another flurry.

Gaining a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, 20-year-old sensation Florian Wirtz should play another leading role here.

Bagging the winner against Union Berlin last weekend and widely regarded as one of European football’s hottest properties, the Germany international has recorded seven goals in his previous 10 appearances for club and country.

While Werder Bremen might have opened the New Year with an eye-catching flurry, Sunday’s guests have largely come crashing back down to earth.

Almost sat in Bundesliga limbo, Ole Werner’s men have collected just a single point from any of their previous five top-flight showdowns and they will certainly face a monumental challenge here.

Likewise, failing to win any of their previous six consecutive Bundesliga appearances, Bremen will also be concerned by a nightmare record against the runaway leaders.

Suffering a 3-0 drumming when they welcomed Leverkusen to the Weserstadion back on November 25th, Werner’s downbeat squad couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge this weekend.
