April 7th: Sunday’s European Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

Although Manchester United vs Liverpool might steal most of Sunday’s headlines, we have a string of heavyweight affairs from across the continent.

As Italian high-flyers Bologna look to shore up their spot in the race to claim a famous Champions League ticket, we also have a stacked fixture lost from the likes of Serie A and the Premier League.

For those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have found a pair of eye-catching betting markets that could be worth taking note of.

11:30 Frosinone vs Bologna

While Bologna might have eventually fallen short in their bid to punch a famous European ticket, the Greyhounds have continued on a major Serie A fairytale this time around. In the midst of what has been a stunning domestic romp on either side of opening the New Year, Sunday’s guests will certainly be looking to make another statement here.

Remarkably sat in the driving seat to claim an iconic Champions League ticket this year, Thiago Motta’s men have received a string of plaudits from across the continent.

Looking to shore up their spot in the top-four chase, Bologna are riding a remarkable wave of momentum.

Last seen earlier in the week putting in another rampant performance as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp against Salernitana, Motta’s men have collected 25 points from their previous nine Serie A appearances.

With that extended purple patch stemming all the way back to an action-packed 2-2 stalemate against Italian heavyweights AC Milan on January 27th, the Greyhounds should be relishing a trip to Lazio this weekend.

Although Frosinone might have marked their return from March’s international break with a 1-1 stalemate away at Genoa, Sunday’s hosts are tipped as a standout contender to make an immediate second-tier return.

Opening this weekend’s fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them outside of the drop zone, the Canaries have failed to win any of their previous nine straight Serie A showdowns.

Likewise, suffering a 2-1 loss when they travelled to Bologna for their reverse top-flight meeting on October 22nd, Frosinone face a stern examination here.

It should also be noted, Eusebio Di Francesco’s men have collected just a single point from any of their last four matchups in front of their own supporters.

18:00 Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest

Although Tottenham might have continued to gain a string of plaudits since appointing Ange Postecoglou last summer, Spurs do have a real battle on their hands in the race to claim a lucrative Champions League ticket. Despite gaining a reputation for their free-flowing approach under the ex-Celtic boss, Sunday’s hosts are seeking some recent stability.

Last seen earlier in the week eventually having to settle for a 1-1 stalemate away at London rivals West Ham, Tottenham have collected consecutive Premier League victories just once since opening the New Year.

However, still sat just two points adrift of skyrocketing back into the top-four, Spurs will be excited by their continued success on home soil.

In fact, along with collecting 12 points from their previous five Premier League appearances, it should also be noted that Postecoglou’s side have won eight of their last nine showdowns in front of their own supporters.

Facing what will certainly be a real must-win battle here, Tottenham will be more than aware that they can not afford any more public slip-ups going forward.

Making what was a monumental return to winning ways earlier in the week as they secured a 3-1 victory at home against Fulham, Nottingham Forest must use that performance as a platform to build on.

Hit with a points deduction last month and dealing with a string of public issues behind the scenes at the City Ground, Sunday’s hosts are still at the heart of a relegation scrap.

Winning just a pair of their 11 Premier League showdowns since opening the New Year, Nuno Espirito Santo will also have a real headache over his side’s extended issues on the road.

It should be highlighted, Forest have registered just a single win from any of their last 12 Premier League contests away from the City Ground – a rut that stems all the way back to September 2nd.
