Aquilani hints at Milan deal

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani says he is on the verge of joining AC Milan.

The midfielder returned to Anfield after spending last season on loan at Juventus, but he has been heavily linked with a return to Italy.

Milan have turned their attention to the former Roma player after their move for Ricardo Montolivo fell through and Aquilani has now confirmed that the deal could soon be in place.

“I am close to joining Milan,” Aquilani was quoted by saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The reports suggest that the Rossoneri will take the player on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Should they decide for the permanent transfer, the asking price is thought to be around €7 million.
