Fiorentina star Alberto Aquilani could be leaving Artemio Franchi at the end of the season, according to La Nazione.
The highly rated midfielder has less than a year left on his current deal and the talks over a new contract haven’t progressed as expected.
Namely, the player’s agent is unhappy by the club’s latest offer, and everything suggests the two parties will not be able to reach an agreement.
This basically means that Aquilani might be sold in the January transfer window, although he has the option to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Alberto Aquilani, 30, joined Fiorentina from Liverpool two years back and has since made 57 Serie A appearances, scoring 13 goals in the process.
After losing their opening league fixture to AS Roma, Viola are available at 4/7 to defeat Genoa at Artemio Franchi and kick start their Serie A campaign.
