According to Talk Sport, Alberto Aquilani could be on the verge of ending his torrid time at Liverpool, with Fiorentina apparently close to signing the midfielder.
Aquilani had been a part of Liverpool’s pre-season matches and was set to revive his career at the Reds under new boss Brendan Rodgers.
However, it seems as though he is now close to agreeing terms with the Serie A side.
The Argentinean arrived from Roma back in 2009 but has had loan periods at both Juventus and AC Milan recently and seems as though the Italian league is where he is settled.
Rodgers is keen to build his own side at Liverpool and it is being suggested that the team from Anfield are also prepared to pay half of the midfielder’s wages for two years if the deal gets done.
It would certainly be a good singing for Fiorentina who would be gaining an experienced player who has played at the highest level.
He has made just 12 starts in his Liverpool career and it seems as though the nightmare move is ready to end, something that both parties are sure to be happy about.
With the deal not quite finalised though, there is still time for twists and turns yet.
