Arda Turan was once one of Europe’s top midfielders, but now he is wasting away the later years of his career on the Barcelona bench. The Turkish international is yet to play a single minute for the Blaugrana in La Liga this season, so it is little surprise that he is being linked with a move away from the Catalan super club.
One potential destination is Premier League side Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo, who want to continue their ascent of the table under new manager Sam Allardyce.
The Toffees had a diabolically bad start to the season, but they now sit in a respectable ninth place in the English top flight. However if they are to hit the heights that many people think they are capable of, and that the £100m summer spending spree was striving for, they will need to bolster their squad this January.
Whether Turan would be a good addition to the Everton team remains to be seen, especially given their already abundant supply of attacking midfielders.
