Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan is set to be offered a new and improved contract at Vicente Calderon, reports AS.
After expressing his desire to leave los Colchoneros last term, the Turkish midfielder seems to have changed his mind and he is now fully committed to the team’s cause.
As a result, Atletico Madrid officials plan to reward the player for his recent performances with a new and improved contract.
With his current deal due to expire in June 2015, Turan will be offered a two-year extension, while his wages will also be increased.
The current €24 million release clause is likely to be raised to €40 million, which should put off any interested sides.
As expected, Arda Turan has developed into a key player at Vicente Calderon, having joined from Galatasaray, as the 26-year-old managed 9 goals and 15 assists in 68 La Liga appearances for the Vicente Calderon outfit.
