Arda Turan set for Galatasaray return

Turkish international Arda Turan looks set for a return home with Galatasaray sitting on the verge of bringing the out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder on a two-year loan deal.

The Catalan radio station Rac1 reports that Barcelona and Galatasaray have reached an agreement that will see the 30-year-old return to his boyhood club after six years.

Turan made his first football steps playing for Galatasaray’s youth setup before breaking into the first team with the Istanbul giants in 2004. The Turkish international made a name for himself playing for Galatasaray where he won a league trophy, cup and Super Cup during his time in Istanbul, before moving to Atletico Madrid.

Turan joined Barcelona in 2015 but never quite got a real chance to prove his worth with the Catalan giants. During two years at Camp Nou, he only made 36 La Liga appearances and scored 5 goals.

And with Turkish summer window closing on Friday, Galatasaray are Turan’s last chance of securing regular playing time this season.
